Childrens Corner : Macular Degeneration
A new educational web site, Childrens Corner, has recently been introduced. The web site is designed to teach children about macular degeneration, a degenerative eye disease that affects over 11 million Americans, through stories, interactive games, and other activities.
The Childrens Corner (www.childrenscorner.org) has general, age-appropriate information about macular degeneration and provides children with ways to help family members or friends with the disease. It includes an e-scrapbook and message board, as well as educational resources for students, teachers, and health care professionals.
Check out the Childrens Corner….a great learning tool for kids and adults!This is the first in a series of children’s web sites being developed by the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF). Other sites in development include ones for Glaucoma and Alzheimer disease. Funding for the web site was made possible in part through a charitable contribution from the Pfizer Foundation.
