#shopsmall on Small Business Saturday and throughout December!
Sure there’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but as a small business ourselves, we get excited about Small Business Saturday (November 25). It’s not only a great way to support your local economy and give credit to some amazing creators and purveyors in your hometown, but it’s also a great chance to get out and explore parts of your city you may not have visited before. Kansas City is teaming with talented artists, chefs, designers, and retailers, so what better place to do some holiday shopping than right in your own backyard?
Live in Shawnee? Check out all of the unique businesses in this community! Overland Park is hosting a “Sip Hot & Shop Small” event in their downtown area, with many different businesses offering a free “hot sip” to customers as well as discounts and prizes all day long. The Bowery in Spring Hill is hosting several local businesses over the weekend, so pop by there for some one-stop shopping. If you need a guide to KCMO, findingkansascity.com has got you covered. Broken down by location and neighborhood they’ve got a one of the most comprehensive lists we’ve ever seen—one that’s making us itch to get started perusing (and our wallets run for cover!).
Even if you missed the festivities of Small Business Saturday, grab some friends and get out there and explore KC! We can guarantee you’ll find more interesting gifts in our small, local businesses than you will in any of the “big box” chains. #shopsmall, support local, and show your loved ones you cared enough to find a gift with some character!
